“London Pee”, 2024
Ink on expanded polystyrene
is a provocative response to Marcel Duchamp’s iconic Fountain, born from a personal encounter with the work in London on 13/10/2023. A playful yet critical gesture—photographing the act of urinating into the piece—became the conceptual seed for this artwork.
Constructed using two recycled polystyrene supports salvaged from the trash, the piece enacts a layered reversal of Duchamp’s original provocation: from urinal to fountain and, through the artist’s intervention, back to urinal—now reimagined and recontextualized.
London Pee challenges the viewer to reconsider authorship, transformation, and the ongoing dialogue between art, object, and irreverence.
